Representative Teresa Martinez &
Candralina Sanchez
Representative
Teresa Martinez
When Representative Teresa Martinez was asked to be a dancer in Season 3’s event, Teresa immediately said yes. She said “I want to do this event because I want to help the Boys and Girls Club. I know that any money raised will help this amazing organization. Plus, it seems like a lot of fun!”
Teresa was born and raised in Casa Grande; attended and graduated from Casa Grande High School in 1986; and attended Central Arizona College and Arizona State University.
Growing up she wanted to be a lawyer, but Teresa found her passion working in government and one of her main passions since becoming a State Representative has been centered around roads and transportation. Rep. Martinez also loves helping people and making laws that help the communities that she represents.
You may not know this about Teresa, but she likes going to comic con and wears her marvel shirts! She is also a big Star Trek and Star Wars fan. May the force be with Teresa at Dancing for Our Stars Season 3!
Candralina Sanchez
Candralina Sanchez has experienced skydiving and bungee jumping, but her passion, that she has had since childhood, is dancing. She began her journey of becoming a dancer in high school and continued her dancing education through her college years at Arizona State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in dance education. Candralina loves many styles of dance, but her favorite styles are hip-hop, Latin, and contemporary. She has taught dance at The Studio and Vista Grande High School.
Candralina took a break from teaching dance at the high school after three years to focus on her three beautiful children. During this break she continued to teach hip-hop at The Studio because she couldn’t stop dancing! She loves watching her students light up when they dance; seeing the passion in their eyes reminds her of why she started dancing!
This is Candralina’s first year as a professional dancer for Dancing for Our Stars and she is so excited to be a part of this season. “Being a part of this fundraiser while given the opportunity to dance is awesome”, she shared. Candralina has worked with club members before and truly enjoys sharing her passion for dance with them. She is a little nervous but looking forward to taking on this new adventure. No parachutes are needed for Candralina and her dance partner to dive in and swoop the Mirror Ball for the win!
