Why We Dance

Arizona’s Club Kids Need You

Arizona’s youth are facing unprecedented challenges. Today, Arizona ranks 50th in the nation for overall youth mental health, underscoring the urgent need for safe, supportive environments where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.

Across the state, more than 461,000 young people want to participate in after-school programs but do not have access. For working families, the hours after school are critical—and without a safe place to go, youth face increased barriers to academic success, personal well-being, and long-term stability.

For more than 27 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor has worked to remove these barriers by providing high-impact, affordable out-of-school programs, caring adult mentorship, and positive environments that foster strong relationships and meaningful experiences. Many of the youth we serve encounter external roadblocks on their path to success. Our Clubs exist to ensure those challenges do not define their future.

Through intentional programming and proven outcomes, we help Club Members develop essential skills, confidence, and real-world readiness. Our work is focused on four priority outcomes that create lasting impact:

  • Academic Success
Young people are self-directed learners who succeed academically and graduate prepared for what comes next.
  • Character & Leadership
Young people stay true to their values, demonstrate good citizenship, and drive positive change in their communities.
  • Health & Well-Being
Young people make informed, healthy decisions that support their overall well-being.
  • Life & Workforce Readiness
Young people gain essential skills, career exposure, and real-world learning experiences that prepare them to navigate adulthood and pursue fulfilling, economically viable career paths.

Dancing for Our Stars is more than an evening of entertainment—it is a direct investment in the well-being, stability, and future success of local youth.

We dance because Great Futures Start Here.
