Nancy Diab Scott
Dr. Nancy Diab Scott was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and moved to Mesa, Arizona, at age seven—though she’s proudly called Arizona home ever since. A 1994 Dobson High School graduate, Nancy initially planned to be a lawyer but fell in love with teaching while studying for the LSATs. That spark led her to a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, a second degree in Educational Leadership, and, most recently, her Doctorate from Northern Arizona University in 2024.
Nancy is now the Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services for Maricopa Unified School District, where she works tirelessly to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and resilience in students and staff. Offstage, she shares her life with her husband, Patrick, and their playful “pack”—Addison, a sassy Chihuahua, and Wrigley, a sweet Pit Bull mix.
A passionate community advocate, Nancy volunteers at local events like Kids Day Maricopa and supports programs that enrich young lives.
Why dance? For the kids. Though the choreography is intimidating, Nancy is stepping out of her comfort zone to raise funds, have fun, and shine on stage for a cause she truly loves.
Mindy Melillo
Mindy Sue Melillo is back for her fourth season of Dancing for Our Stars, and she’s bringing all the sparkle, sass, and skill you’ve come to expect! Now proudly calling Maricopa part of her community, Mindy continues to share her passion for dance with audiences and students alike.
Owner and instructor of The Dance Spot in San Tan Valley, Mindy has been dancing for 36 years and teaching for 28. She’s performed with legends like Weird Al Yankovic and Alice Cooper, danced in a Super Bowl halftime show, and even taken her moves to Japan.
Mindy loves mentoring her “adopted children” at the studio, giving them confidence and opportunities to shine. Offstage, she’s a proud mom to Tanner and Joey and her furry soulmate, Waffles.
Returning to the stage not just for the fun, but to connect with the Maricopa community, Mindy is ready to chase that Mirror Ball Trophy—and maybe rock the house while she’s at it!
