Tanya Powers & Daniel Kent

Tanya Powers

Tanya Powers is swapping coffee cups for dance shoes and bringing her signature charm to Dancing for Our Stars! Born and raised on a dairy farm in Sandlake, Oregon, Tanya learned early that hard work—and a good sense of humor—goes a long way. A graduate of Nestucca High School’s tiny class of 28, she married her high school sweetheart, Dave, and together they’ve danced through life for 36 years.

Tanya owns Honeycutt Coffee in Maricopa and A Latte Vino in Casa Grande, creating spaces where community, laughter, and connection flow as freely as the coffee. She’s a proud mom of two daughters, grandmother of two, and grand-dog parent to two furry rascals.

A pink-loving, board-game-playing powerhouse, Tanya gives back to her community through the Boys & Girls Club, Maricopa Pantry, local sports leagues, and more. She’s dancing to support kids, have fun, and prove that a little sass—and a lot of heart—makes for one unforgettable performance.

Daniel Kent

Daniel Kent is a Dancing for Our Stars original, serving as a professional dancer since the event’s very first season five years ago. With more than 20 years of teaching and coaching experience, Daniel brings skill, heart, and show-stopping energy to the stage. In 2015, he took ownership of The Studio of Dance, growing it to three times its original size and turning it into a thriving creative hub.

Daniel began dancing at age 12 and went on to become a competitive International Latin ballroom dancer and two-time National Finalist in the Youth Open Latin division. His training spans Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Dance Education, and in Season 3 he earned the Showstopper Award.

This year, Daniel is raising a glass and the stakes by partnering with two wine bar owners. A strong supporter of youth programs, he’s dancing for the Boys & Girls Club—and aiming squarely for the Mirror Ball Trophy once again.
